The knitting. Also Mixtape. Chucked on the passenger seat of the car in the vain hope that kids might all fall asleep, post Museum-visit, and I might sneak in a row or three. Ha!
But look. The knitting… it grows!
I’m enjoying the knitting, actually. I’ve even knitted in public(!) and I don’t think I attracted a single strange look. The friend I was with even assumed I actually knew what I was doing(!) I’m quite pleased, and fairly convinced I’ll see it through to the end. Meanwhile, what unfinished quilt?! La la la, I can’t hear you :giggle:
We did have a nice morning, despite the very busy-ness of the Museum. We met up with Marita and her gorgeous girls. Finn and Niamh were the best behaved they’ve been all holidays. Keeping them both within my sight while tending to a very wiiiide-awake-but-grumpy-and-will-not-bloody-go-to-sleep baby was a wee bit of a challenge though. I realised it was the first time I’d attempted such an outing with three children. And I’m still intact, hurrah!
More spaces over at Kirsty’s place.
When in the car, I usually put my kids on ‘traffic light duty’ while I attempt to get a speedy row in. It has struck me that this knittery obsession may be getting somewhat out of hand.
Just to clarify…the car IS stationery at a red light !
I do the same thing with my embroidery. I carry the bag in the car and sneak in bits whenever I get a chance. It is especially nice when my husband is driving! Good to you going out with 3 little ones–some days I feel like I still haven’t mastered that with two!
I tried that with reading or studying, but the lights aren’t long enough and I get a rude HONK before the girls realize the light has turned green. The baby closeup is TOO cute! haha…make me smile! :giggle:
um…gosh. I must’ve been in the sun too long today~look at all those typos! oh well…
The knitting is looking great. Never mind the quilt – a break is good (that’s what I’m telling myself about the grannies).
We had a great day. Thank you so much for joining us. Annie and Heidi adore Finn and Niamh ๐
congrats on making it through the outing – not just making it through – the kids look like they had a ball. And the museum is soooo brave when its busy. Your non-sleeper is looking pretty darn gorgeous….
Whenever I knit in public someone who used to knit as a child will start talking to me about it; it always ends with the sentence well I’d probably knit faster than you. Hmph.
I’m contemplating braving the Museum today, either that or the Wave Pool at Albert Park.
Hey the rib looks fantastic, that blue brilliant.
Such pretty coloured wool ๐
We went to the Museum this afternoon!
We spent most of our time in the Children’s area, but I did think I was also brave to go on my own with three kids (that are all big enough to run in three different directions). Yay for us Melanie, and thank goodness we have school on Monday!
Hello.
How did I miss your creative space last week? Ooops…
Glad that SOMEONE recognised the caffeine molecule. He he he. (Tell me, do you miss your old sciencey life?)
I hope your littlest is being slightly more ammenable this week.
